Managing Templates
You can manage your created file, email and folder templates through the Manage Templates page on the SuiteFiles web app. You can rename, delete, and upload templates and organise them in different categories. You can also edit file templates.
To access the template manager, click on the More tab and select Manage Templates
Filtering Templates
The left hand panel allows you to filter the templates by type (Documents, Emails, Folders), category, or by file extension.
Renaming and Deleting Templates
To rename or delete a template, click on the three dots to the right of the template name and select Rename or Delete
Editing File Templates
To edit a File Template, either click on the file name or click on the three dots to the right of the template name and select Edit.
Note: Email templates cannot be edited this way. see here to edit email templates.
This will bring you to a preview of the file. Select Edit in browser or Open in Office to make changes to the document. If you select the Edit in browser option, the file saves automatically so you can just navigate away from the page once you have completed your edits.
If you would like to make changes to an existing Email or Folder template, you'll need to create the template again (including your new changes) following the steps for Creating an email template or Creating a folder template. Delete the older versions from the templates manager by clicking on the three dots to the right of the template name and selecting Delete. For a step-by-step guide of the recommended process for editing an email template, see Editing an email template.
Upload Templates
You can upload pre-existing templates directly to SuiteFiles from this page. Click on the Upload Files button on the right of the Manage Templates page and then navigate to the file you want to upload. Select Open and that will upload the file as a template to SuiteFiles. The file might not show straight away - if this happens, simply refresh the page.
Template Categories
File and Email Templates can be added to categories for better organisation. Folder templates cannot do this. To create a new category, click on the + symbol next to Categories on the left-hand panel.
To add templates to these categories, click on the three dots to the right of the template name and hover over Add to Category. This will bring up a list of all the categories you have created and you can select which category you'd like to add the file to from there.
Please Note: that Templates for Folders cannot be categorised.
