Outlook add-in and SuiteFiles Drive recommended security update

We've rolled out a security update to both the Outlook add-in for Windows desktop, and SuiteFiles Drive. To update your applications, please follow the steps below.

This guide goes through:

How to update the SuiteFiles Outlook add-in: 

Please note: You may need to be a Windows Administrator to install this update. 

The latest version of the SuiteFiles Outlook add-in for Windows desktop is 1.0.0.72. To check your current version number,

  1. In Outlook, log out of the SuiteFiles Outlook add-in by clicking the cog icon in the top right corner. 
  2. Select Logout. 
           
  3. If your version number displayed beneath the SuiteFiles logo say 1.0.0.72, you have the latest version of the Outlook add-in. 


If your version number is earlier than this, you will need to update by following the steps below: 

  1. When logged in to the SuiteFiles Outlook add-in, select the 'New update available!' button on the top right corner.  This may look different compared to which version of the Outlook add-in you currently have:
                              
  2. Once you push this button, a small panel will appear on the screen. Select 'Download and install' to begin the download process. Please note, this may look different compared to which version of the Outlook add-in you currently have:

  3. Once it finishes installing, Outlook will close. You will have to reopen Outlook where you will see the latest version of the SuiteFiles add-in appear on the right side of the screen. 
  4. If you are prompted to log into the Outlook add-in again, please follow these steps.

How to update SuiteFiles Drive: 

Please note: You may need to be a Windows Administrator to install this update. 

The latest version of SuiteFiles Drive is v1.2.2.0. You can check this by right-clicking on the SuiteDrive icon and selecting Support from the dropdown menu. This will be located on the bottom right-hand side of your screen by the time and date:

              

If you do not have this version installed, you will need to: 

  1. Exit out of SuiteDrive and then double-click the application shortcut on your desktop
                                                 
  2. Once you open SuiteDrive, you will see a prompt that will request you download and install the latest version. Click "Yes":
           
  3. You will then be prompted to confirm this action. Select "Accept and install" and follow the prompts on the screen:
                               
  4. Once SuiteDrive has finished installing, you will be prompted to log into SuiteDrive again. Please follow these steps.
